Donald Trump's claim that he would end the Russia-Ukraine war "within 24 hours" if he becomes president of the US again is "very dangerous," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Zelensky calls Trump's election vow to bring immediate end to war in Ukraine 'a little scary' as details are scarce

Speaking in an interview with the UK's Channel 4 News, Zelensky said he knows no details of Trump's plan to end the war and feared that he may not agree with the plan.

“If he says this publicly, that’s a little scary. I’ve seen a lot, a lot of victims, but that’s really making me a bit stressed,” Zelensky said. “Even if his idea [for ending the war] – that no one has heard yet – doesn’t work for us, for our people, he will do anything to implement his idea anyway. And this worries me a little."

Trump, who aims to return to the White House in elections in November this year, said in September last year that he would end the war in Ukraine immediately if elected, but he gave no further details.

“If I tell you exactly, I lose all my bargaining chips. I mean, you can’t really say exactly what you’re going to do," Trump said in an interview with NBC News. "But I would say certain things to Putin. I would say certain things to Zelensky."
