US and Russia to set up teams to work on ending Ukraine war

US and Russian officials on Tuesday agreed to appoint high-level teams as soon as possible to start paving the way to end the conflict in Ukraine in a manner that is "enduring, sustainable, and acceptable to all sides," the US State Department said.

The statement came after a meeting the same day between the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in Saudi Arabia's capital of Riyadh.
