Ukrainian lawmaker sentenced to 8 years in prison in first-ever crypto bribery case

Ukraine's High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) found member of parliament Andrii Odarchenko guilty of attempting to bribe the former head of the State Agency for Reconstruction, Mustafa Nayem, with bitcoin, and sentenced him to eight years in prison.

The case marks the first-ever documented instance of a bribe offer in cryptocurrency, the court noted, HACC said in a statement on Thursday.
