Ukraine to buy Westinghouse reactors for Khmelnytskyi NPP expansion

Ukraine plans to buy two nuclear reactors from the US-headquartered nuclear power firm Westinghouse Electric Company to expand its Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plant (NPP), the state-owned operator of Ukraine's nuclear power plants Energoatom sad.

The expansion of the Khmelnytskyi NPP will include the construction of two additional power units, units 5 and 6, which will feature Westinghouse-made AP1000 reactors, Energoatom said in a press release on Friday.
