Trump says he has spoken to Putin about ending Ukraine war

US President Donald Trump told the New York Post in an interview that he has spoken with Russia's President Vladimir Putin over the phone in an effort to negotiate an end to the war in Ukraine.

Trump declined to specify how many times he has spoken with Putin, but said that Russia's president cares about killing on the battlefield.
