The International Finance Corporation plans to launch a €50 million donor-funded program as a pilot for its proposed Viability Gap Facility meant to make certain Ukrainian infrastructure public-private partnerships more commercially viable, a senior IFC official said.
The pilot is expected to cover two or three projects, with a planned surgical hospital in Lviv’s Unbroken healthcare ecosystem among the first under consideration, Alejandro Alvarez de la Campa, IFC country manager for Ukraine, told Ukraine Rebuild Newswire.
IFC hopes to secure donor partners for the pilot by the end of this year, before expanding the Viability Gap Facility to as many as 15 projects in healthcare, water, waste management and affordable housing.
