US announces nearly $1 billion in new military aid to Ukraine

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on Saturday announced a new military aid package for Ukraine amounting to $988 million.

The military equipment package, provisioned under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI), includes unmanned aerial systems, rocket munitions, and support for maintenance and repair programs.
