Ukraine to cut number of SOEs to 100 from 3,000, economy minister says

Ukraine's government plans to reduce the number of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to about 100 from the current 3,000 under a recently adopted state property policy, the country's Economy Minister Yulia Svyrydenko said.

"The goal of this optimization is to enhance the efficiency of SOEs, increase their contribution to the economy, and reduce the budgetary burden of maintaining them," Svyrydenko stated.
