Ukraine deputy energy minister arrested in probe into $500,000 bribe for equipment transfer

Ukraine's deputy energy minister and three others have been arrested for allegedly accepting a $500,000 bribe in exchange for the transfer of state-owned coal mining equipment, state anti-corruption authorities said.

Ukraine's National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) alleged that Deputy Energy Minister Oleksandr Kheil, who it did not name but was identified by local media, solicited the bribe to move specific state mining equipment from near the fighting for use in the safer western region of the country.
