Ukraine agrees to 30-day ceasefire proposed by US; Russia still needs to accept

Ukraine has agreed to a US proposal to enact an immediate, interim 30-day ceasefire, subject to acceptance and implementation by Russia, the governments of the US and Ukraine said in a joint statement on Tuesday.

The statement followed a meeting between US State Secretary Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Mike Waltz, and Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and the Head of Presidential Office Andriy Yermak in Saudi Arabia's port city of Jeddah.
