The 54.6 MW Skolivska wind farm in Ukraine's western region of Lviv, developed by Ukrainian renewable energy operator Eco-Optima and Czech energy company MND, started operation Wednesday, the Ukrainian Wind Energy Association said in a press release.

Investment in the project totaled UAH 2.1 billion ($50.6 million), with Ukrainian bank JSC Ukreximbank as the primary lender, according to the release.

The project will allow about 100,000 Lviv residents to receive electricity generated by wind power.

The construction of the wind farm started in 2021 and was completed last year, Eco-Optima said in an announcement earlier this year.

The Skolivska wind farm has 10 wind turbines supplied by Nordex.
