Ukraine's private war-risk insurance market has expanded since the launch of its first large-scale commercial facility 18 months ago, with more than 1,000 industrial and commercial assets now quoted for coverage market-wide and more than 100 ultimately insured to date, according to FortuneGuard, the firm that built the market's first large-scale commercial facility, with policies placed through London's insurance market.
"Since we launched last year, it has been a real success," said FortuneGuard CEO Oleksii Omelianchuk. "Other brokers and Lloyd's players followed the path into Ukraine. Over 1,000 assets have been quoted and more than 100 have been already insured against war risks."
