Macron, Starmer propose deploying 'reassurance force' to Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron, after hosting a summit of the so-called 'Coalition of the Willing' in Paris on Thursday, told reporters that he and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer proposed deploying a "reassurance force" to Ukraine after the war ends.

These are not intended to be peacekeeping forces and would serve as a deterrent against potential Russian aggression, Macron said. They would be positioned in strategic towns and bases and not on the frontlines.
