Investors are 'clamoring' for EU to issue bonds to fund war in Ukraine, Bloomberg reports

Bond investors are "clamoring" for the European Union to issue war bonds to fund Ukraine's struggle against Russia as they seek to stop the Russian invasion and benefit from AAA-rated securities at the same time, Bloomberg reported.

An EU bond issuance would allow the West to increase spending on the war in Ukraine without saddling individual countries with debt while giving bond investors a higher return than, say, bonds from Germany or France, the newswire reported, citing various investors and data from recent bond actions.
