EBRD, Aon launch €110 million war risk insurance facility in Ukraine

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and professional services firm Aon are launching a new €110 million guarantee scheme in Ukraine to address challenges reinsurance companies face in the country.

The new Ukraine Recovery and Reconstruction Guarantee Facility provides guarantees to international reinsurers to cover war-related losses underwritten by local Ukrainian insurance. The facility will utilize existing market infrastructure to provide protection that private-sector investors need.
