The Czech Republic will help Ukraine rebuild the country's industrial Dnipropetrovsk region, which has been heavily hit by the war with Russia, the Ukrainian Restoration Ministry said in a press release on Tuesday.

Prague's help in rebuilding the central Ukrainian region will include energy generation, water supply, and health care project, the ministry said, without offering further details of the projects.

The statement followed a meeting between Ukraine's Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksiy Kuleba and Czech Governmental Envoy for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Tomáš Kopečný. The two discussed establishing a permanent reconstruction working group and the opening of Czech consulate in the city of Dnipro.

"We will be very happy to focus on a new project that you and I agree on and put all our efforts where others refuse to do it," Kopečný said. "We support Ukraine and its residents because this is a contribution to our security."

Kopečný recalled that the Czech Republic already has several projects in the northeastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv, which has so far received seven cogeneration stations, a 20 MW turbine, and equipment for the Kharkiv Heat Networks utility company with Czech assistance.

The Czech government has been a strong ally of Ukraine, previously contributing humanitarian aid, military support, and financial assistance to bolster the country's defense and recovery efforts.
