Piramida was never meant to be a destination.

Unlike Kyiv's giant shopping malls, it serves the surrounding neighborhood. Residents stop in for groceries, collect prescriptions, eat with their families and browse familiar shops a short walk from home.

That is precisely what makes it valuable—and why it became part of a reported investment by former Google CEO Eric Schmidt and his wife, Wendy.
